Building on our success at the Inter-Academy Spanish Spelling Bee last year, we have entered the current Year 7s for Routes into Languages National Spanish Spelling Bee.
The students must not only learn 50 new Spanish words per round, but they have to learn to spell them correctly using the Spanish Alphabet; A challenge if ever there was one.
In the first round, students competed within their Spanish class to find the top Spanish spellers of each Year 7 class. Last week saw the completion of round 2; The School Competition and we are pleased to announce the winners; Holly Bott, Chloe Hall, Amelia Stewart, Ryan Wilkinson Kacper Zelichowski, Erin Smith, Paige Fogg, Lisa Hardwood, Tia Holland and Kiera Teale.
Now these 10 amazing students will go head to head to discover who the Top 4 Spanish Spellers of the whole Academy are. These 4 students will then go on to the Regional Finals to represent our Academy at the University of Hull in March.
We wish them all luck and are keen to celebrate their success so far.
