Alexandra Cox - Associate Assistant Principal

I started working at Outwood Academy Adwick in 2009, as part of the Humanities team, leading on Psychology and teaching Health and Social Care and I have carried out a variety of roles, working across all of the Deeps.
This year my Senior Leader position is as Director of Sixth Form (Deep Leadership), with a priority of maintaining and further building on the success of Post 16 experiences and results. My initial priority is ensuring that our students are on the right course for them, that they receive engaging lessons, quality feedback on assessments and targeted support. My role will also include ensuring that Sixth Form students reach their full potential by; attending all lessons, engaging with learning and developing skills of independent learning to support their independent study.
Last year my responsibilities within Deep Support (as acting Assistant Principal) included identifying, tracking, supporting and intervening with the crossover students (identified Year 11 students who were on track for a 5 in either Maths or English but not both). I also worked alongside Mrs Bate to lead on Marking and Assessment (Deep Learning) and continued in my existing position as Senior Mentor Co-ordinator/ ITT Co-ordinator supporting our trainee teachers, primarily School Direct.
In addition to recent experiences, I have lead on the VMG programme, Pledges, charity opportunities, coaching and mentoring.
