Consultation for an Enhanced Communication Resource Hub
Outwood Academy Adwick is currently working with the Local Authority on meeting the needs of young people in the area. As part of this we propose to add an Enhanced Resource Provision (ERP) to the school. This is part of wider plans the local authority has in responding to the Government’s SEND review published earlier this year. The ERP will be run in conjunction with Venn Academy Trust, who deliver provision across primary, secondary, SEMH, specialist and alternative provision settings and work closely with local authorities, health partners and schools to deliver outstanding inclusive practice and strengthen local educational capacity.
The hub will be based on Windmill Balk Lane, beside the school’s main entrance. It will be a separate building where individual and small group teaching can take place, whilst allowing access to lessons within the main school. This provision will create 12 places for young people with communication and interaction needs, named as a primary need on their Education, Health and Care Plan.
